Nvidia sales surge in the fourth quarter on demand for AI chips

Nvidia has reported a significant surge in its fourth-quarter financial results for fiscal year 2025, driven by high demand for its AI chips. The company achieved record revenue of $39.3 billion, marking a 78% increase compared to the same period last year, and net income of $22.1 billion, an 80% rise year-over-year.

A substantial portion of this growth is attributed to the rapid production and sales of Nvidia’s Blackwell AI supercomputers, particularly to large cloud service providers. The data center segment experienced a remarkable 93% increase in sales from the previous year, contributing $35.6 billion to the quarterly revenue.

Looking ahead, Nvidia projects first-quarter revenue of $43 billion, surpassing analysts’ expectations of $42.1 billion. This optimistic forecast is bolstered by strong demand for the new Blackwell chip.

Despite these positive results, Nvidia remains cautious about potential challenges, including competition from emerging AI models like China’s DeepSeek and possible impacts from new tariff policies.

As of February 27, 2025, Nvidia’s stock price stands at $131.28, reflecting a 3.77% increase from the previous close.
